GIVING BACK
Giving Back
Here at TruGardens, giving back is a big part of why we do what we do. We pride ourselves on being humanitarians and strive to instill the value that it is better to give than to receive, in our children and our TruGardens family. For every item we sell, we donate 10% of sales, excluding tax and shipping to organizations that are near and dear to our hearts, The Els Foundation and The Canopy Project. Your purchase helps us help them and we are so grateful for your support. From day one and as we grow, giving back is the heart and soul of our company.
Our goal is to bring awareness and inspire others to give to others. No amount of time or money is insignificant. If every human does one good deed for another human, we all will benefit from the exchange of love.
To learn more about the organizations we support, please see their information listed below. Thank you again for choosing TruGardens and being a part of our vision.
Els for Autism
Els for Autism is a game-changing resource, delivering and facilitating programs that are leading examples of what can be available to people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Els for Autism was established in 2009 by Liezl and Ernie Els. The Els’ son, Ben is impacted by the disorder which affects 1 in 68 children in the U.S. The world class pro golfer and his wife have devoted their efforts to a catalytic philanthropic project – The Els Center of Excellence. Designed as a global hub to connect the international autism communities, the facility creates shared best practices and latest research for improved collaboration. The 26-acre facility provides on-site education for 300 students, ages 3-21 years old. Focus areas include education, research, global outreach, recreation services, therapy and adult services.
TruGardens’ own cofounder Amy and son Phoenix are featured in this beautiful video capturing the essence of The Els Foundation http://www.elsforautism.org/get-to-know-us/

The Canopy Project
The Canopy Project plants trees to help communities around the world. Through the Canopy Project, Earth Day Network works on the ground with organizations worldwide that strengthen communities through tree planting. Using sapling and seed distribution, urban forestry, agroforestry, and tree care training, we have empowered rural and urban people alike to conserve, repair, and restore tree cover to their lands. This project has led to millions of trees being planted on six different continents. Considering the United Nations estimates that for every dollar spent on reforestation, $2.50 dollars is generated in local downstream income and benefits, that’s a huge impact.
Since 2016, The Canopy Project has taken on even broader significance. Now the important work of planting trees and improving lives around the world also supports Earth Day Network’s Trees for the Earth campaign. Trees for the Earth was the first of 5 new, ambitious, and goal-oriented campaigns to be launched in the run up to Earth Day’s 50th anniversary in 2020. It’s goal: to plant 7.8 billion trees worldwide by 2020—one for every person projected to be on earth.
